Excellent
for wood/plastic composites such as Trex® decking! The easiest
and most economical hidden fastening system for composites on
the market!
Offers the
least conspicuous exposure when face screwing Ipe decking! The
smallest head available in a type 316
S.S. trim head screw.
TrimTite
features a self- tapping, type 17 point and an aggressive coarse
thread for superior bite into any wood substrate. The Torx drive recess provides maximum holding power to the drive bit
resulting in more torque for denser materials.
Similar type
square drive screws do not compare in performance to the star
recess of TrimTite screws. The square drive recess tapers into
the screw head which causes cam-out or stripping when driving
into dense materials. The star drive (Torx) recess goes straight
into the screw head at 90 degrees preventing any slipping or
cam-out when driving into dense materials.
COMPOSITE
DECKING:
The
disappearing act...
When countersunk
into composite decking, these screws will virtually disappear! The trick is to drive the screw
an 1/8" below the surface without pre-drilling. After countersinking, pinch
the displaced material and hit with a hammer. This will
cause the excess plastic/wood to fill the hole making the
fastener head disappear.

IPE DECKING:
Stainless
Steel should only be used in Ipe decking as the wood is highly
acidic and will cause a staining reaction to most coated fasteners.
Pre-drilling and counter-boring is also highly recommended to
prevent screw breakage and wood splitting.
Finish
work and trim/casework are also good applications for TrimTite
screws.
